Storm Debris Disposal Site Update

Gildner Pit and Glancy Pit Closure on May 5, 2025
Cheboygan County, MI-May 2, 2025 -The Cheboygan County Emergency Management
announces that the Gildner Pit on US 23 Highway and Glancy Pit on Hutchinson Highway will be
closed to storm debris drop-off starting Monday, May 5, 2025. This temporary closure is part of
ongoing efforts to manage storm debris collection and site maintenance.

Currently Open Storm Debris Disposal Locations:
• Levering Pit – 11184 Levering Rd
• Meyer Pit – 3801 Meyer Pit Rd
• 3948 Indian Trail Rd
• Burt Twp Dump – Woodrose Rd
• Road Commission Pit – 1302 Devereaux Lake Rd
• Road Commission Pit – 9677 Gravel Pit Rd
• Tuscarora Twp Dump – 4653 Brady Rd
Hours of Operation: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily

Important Reminders:
• What to Dispose: Please only bring storm debris, such as fallen branches and tree limbs. No household items, garbage, or any other debris will be accepted.
• Please Note: DO NOT place storm debris at the end of your driveway or property. The Cheboygan County Road Commission will not be removing debris left at private properties or along public roadways.
